Thomas D. “Tom” Forrest, 51, of Co. Rd. 61, Mount Gilead, Ohio died unexpectedly Monday, April 19, 2004 in Morrow County Hospital.

He was born in Berea, Ohio on December 31, 1952, the son of the late G. Bedford Forrest and Mary Gorges Forrest who survives in Mount Gilead. Tom graduated from Buckeye Valley High School in 1971 and had worked for Field Container Corporation and North Central Corrections Institute. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and attended the Mount Gilead Southern Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Jennifer K. Jones Forrest, whom he married September 8, 1981; two sons Richard Forrest of Rochester, NY and Brian (fiancé Amy Beardsley) Forrest of Edison, Ohio; a brother Jim Forrest of Cardington, Ohio; two sisters Earlene (Don) Piatt of Cardington, Ohio and Marlene (Michael) Vickers of Port St. Lucie, FL; his parents-in-law Jack and Mary Faye Jones of Edison, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law Jackie (Don) Blevins of Marion, VA, and Jim (Ivy) Jones of Edison, Ohio; niece and nephews Darla, Kevin and Donny; and great nephews and niece Hunter, Caleb and Marissa.

In addition to his father, a brother-in-law Joey K. Jones preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Rev. Lawrence Combs will conduct funeral services Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Mount Gilead Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery in Mount Gilead. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or his church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at
