Theresa Ann Rod

July 19, 1962 ‒ November 24, 2020

Galena, Ohio

Theresa Ann (Gangloff) Rod, age 58, of Galena, peacefully transitioned on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.  She was born in Columbus on July 19, 1962, to Kenneth Gangloff and Marge Fisher.

Theresa was a loving wife and very loyal friend to many.  She graduated from Ohio Dominican University with a degree in communications and retired from AT&T after 30 years of service as a call center supervisor.

Theresa really enjoyed travel, scuba diving, adventures with her Lake Erie boating friends, riding with her Harley buddies, and spending time with her early friends from Alum.  She was frequently overheard saying, “We are so lucky to have so many great friends.”

Theresa’s life was an exciting adventure.  Even though she has passed away, she will continue to live each and every day in the hearts of family and friends.

Theresa was preceded in death by her loving father, Bill Watson.  She is survived by her husband, Larry Rod; mother, Marge Watson; sister, Debbie Bowen (Paul Bott); aunt and uncle, Linda and Frank; two brothers, Kenny and Jeff Gangloff, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Due to current health concerns, there will be no service.  A private, by invitation only, celebration of life ceremony is scheduled for Monday, October 4, 2021.  DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements and is honored to serve the Rod family.  Please visit to share your favorite memories of Theresa or post a condolence.

  • I wish I knew the right words, powerful enough to give you comfort and ease your suffering; but there are no such words. I may only resign myself to say that you and your family are in my heart and I am so deeply, deeply sorry. May God grant you peace.

  • Larry, My deepest sympathy in the loss of your spectacular wife Theresa. I will remember her kindness, caring and loving way towards everyone. You two made a great team. My love and prayers are with you and your family.

  • Larry, we are terribly saddened of Theresa’s passing. Our hearts are broken for you and your family. She is a beautiful soul and such a bright light in so many lives. You and Theresa are the picture of what true love looks like, and we are blessed to have witnessed it. We extend our deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. God be with you and give you peace.
    We love you, Larry.

  • Larry, I don’t have the words I am feeling to provide any level of comfort to you or to her family. I feel so devastated that she is not just a text or a phone call away any longer. She was so positive the few times we talked and texted recently, and I told her about a dream I had with both of you that was so real. She seemed genuinely happy that I shared it with her and she was clear that she never gave up hope, that hope was a part of the game plan. One thing I am beyond certain of is the love she had for you. It was real and will continue into eternity, as that alone is what each of us strives to achieve – true, eternal love. I am so sorry for your loss and will pray that your decades of happy memories, as well as the knowledge she is no longer suffering will help you through this devastating time. She was an incredible light in so many lives and it will be a long while before her loss is not felt to the extent it is right now.

  • Larry & family: We are so sorry to hear of Theresa’s passing. We have so many fond memories and laughs from scuba dive trips & gatherings at your home and ours. We will always remember her laughter and smile and graciousness. T and you will always be a part of us in our hearts and thoughts. Please accept our love-felt condolences and prayers for all of you during this most difficult time. We love all of you❤️

  • Larry, my thoughts are with you and your family. Theresa was a great mentor to me. I would not be where I am today without her teaching me early in my career. She taught me how to be firm and demand excellence while still having fun at work and seeing the humor during tough times professionally. I am grateful for the time I spent with both of you.

  • Larry and family; We are so sad to hear of Theresa’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers will be for you and your family as you grieve in the coming days and months. We will all miss her mightily!
    Deepest condolences,

  • Larry, our hearts are broken with hearing the loss of T, who left us way too soon. We hope you take comfort in knowing she’s pain free and in a better place. Her laugh, her “accent” (the way she said kewler for cooler). She was a brave warrior. We miss her already. May God give you peace and comfort. You know we love you!

  • Although I have not seen Teresa since retiring from AT&T in 1998 and moving out of the state I have many fond memories of her. She was a delightful person to be around and will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Having recently lost my husband to cancer I know the pain and sadness of the family and my heart and prayers go out to you all. May our comforting Lord bring peace to your heart.

  • Larry – Our deepest sympathies. “T” was truly a positive force in the world. She left many friends and memories behind. We will always remember the trips to Bonaire standing in the pool with a drink in hand or under the ocean admiring the sea life. Those were great times and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by the two of us and by all of the members of “Larry’s Dive Club”.

  • Larry – I was just informed and my heart is both stunned and aching for you . Just know, I will be praying for you and yours. I’m so sorry.

    • It seems like yesterday all of us sledding at Glen Echo Park! Your years of friendship and your kind words are greatly appreciated my friend. Larry

  • Larry I can only say I am deeply saddened by Theresa’s passing. I think about you two often this time of year as this was when we were usually trotting around the globe to dive somewhere. Theresa was one of the best, she was always fun to be around, in or out of the water. Sorry we haven’t connected at lake Erie, we need to sometime. If there is ever anything I can do for you please let me know.

  • I am so sorry we have lost such a wonderful friend and person. I worked with Theresa and she was always the kindest, most thoughtful woman. She had the best sense of humor and was so witty. I can still picture her walking into the office, always looking so sharp…dressed so fashionably and with gorgeous shoes, jewelry and her nails always looking so sharp. And that smile!!! Always with such a infectious smile and laugh. I will continue to miss her and my heart goes out to Larry for such a deep, great loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Larry.
