Thelma Spillman-Gillam Ivy, 71, of 675 Richardson Avenue, Galion, died Monday, May 9, 2005 at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness.
Born April 1, 1934 in Globe, Ky, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Gillam and Rose Spillman Gillam. She married Jerrell F. Ivy on March 3, 1956 and he survives.
She was a graduate of Grayson High School in Grayson, Ky. in 1953. She was an ordained minister in the Apostolic Churches of Jesus Christ and she worked at the former Atwood Manor Nursing Home in housekeeping.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia and Allen Milligan of Jacksonville, Fla., Marlene and John Williams, Cheryl Baldwin of Galion; two sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Jonnie Ivy of Lisbon and Jonathan and April Ivy of Crestline; 16 grandchildren; four brothers and a sisters-in-law, Mose Gillam of Tiffin, Earon and Jo Gillam of New Waterford, Arch Gillam of Galion and Lonnie Gillam, Jr. of Mansfield. She is also survived by a very close, loving, life long friend, Patsy Riggs of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by a son James Ivy, four brothers, Elijah, James, Verlin and Isaac Gillam and two sisters, Madeline Richmond and Ona Justice.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, with Dallas R. Stamper officiating. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
