Thelma B. Stull, age 98, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. She was born on September 21, 1919 in Mount Vernon, Ohio the daughter of Asa and Cleota (Taylor) Brown.

Thelma served as a Pharmacist Mate 2nd Class in the United States Navy during World War II. Upon returning home she worked as an office manager for Dr. Thomas Prescott and later retired from the unemployment office for the State of Ohio. Thelma was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Knox County Joint Veterans Council, American Legion Post #136 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4027 all in Mount Vernon.

Thelma was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend that will be missed by many.

She is survived by her two sons, Darrell L. (Janey) Stull of Mount Vernon and Jon David Stull of Los Lunas, New Mexico; two grandchildren, Amy (Butch) Adams and Jennifer (Will) Shaffer; two great grandchildren, Ty Joedward Adams and Alexis Grace Shaffer; sister-in-law, Dorothy “Dot” Brown; nieces and nephews, Margery Scott, R. Edward Brown, Janet Gerrard, Carolyn Spearman, Rick and Thomas Brown; 15 great nieces and nephews; 30 great great nieces and nephews and 5 great great great nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Stull who passed away in 1995, three brothers, Jack Brown, Ralph Brown, Richard Brown and a niece, Barbara “Bobbie” Walker.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 beginning at 11 a.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the funeral. Pastor Willie Mae Palmer will be officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions in Thelma’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
