MANSFIELD: Teresa Marie Carroll, 93, of Mansfield passed away Monday morning August 17, 2015 in Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.
The daughter of Otto and Blanche (Lillie) Burdick, Teresa was born March 27, 1922 in Pine Woods, New York. She graduated from Homer Academy in 1940 and Albany State Teacher College in 1944.
Teresa worked as vice president of Midwest Utility Service Corporation in Mansfield until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church; Women’s Club, served as director of the Tuesday Duplicate Bridge Game; Leiderkranz, and Lexington Seniors.
She had a lifelong interest in collecting antiques, including operating a booth at Yesteryear Mart and organized the Colony Club Antique Collectors Club. She was also a member of the Quester’s Club International, dedicated to collecting and restoration.
Her other hobbies included traveling, decorating, playing bridge, and playing golf.
She is survived by her children Donald (Marie) Knapp of Staten Island, New York, Patrick (Joni) Carroll of Mansfield, and Kevin Carroll of Mansfield; grandchildren Scott (Christina) Knapp, Timothy (Nikki) Knapp, TaraLynn (Gary) Biscuiti, Kimberly (Billy) Althoff, and Natalie Carroll; great grandchildren Zoe, Olivia, AJ, Daniella, Joey, and Billy, Jr.; sister Pauline Gudisman of Buchanan, New York, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Knapp, second husband Raymond Carroll, sisters Alma Erb and Marilyn Pullen.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where family will receive friends the hour prior. Celebrant Jerry Wilson will officiate. Interment will be in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society may be made through the funeral home.
