Tammie J. Andrews
October 08, 1958 ‒ March 17, 2016
MANSFIELD: Tammie Andrews filled her life with excitement, love, joy, and happiness…all with a good balance of Caribbean vacations, shopping sprees, and unduplicated delicious homemade recipes. Living her life to its fullest, she was courageous and hardworking. No longer struggling with the physical ailments on this earth, Tammie is now at rest after passing away Thursday, March 17, 2016 in Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was 57.
The daughter of Frederick and Genevieve (Riggs) Andrews, Tammie was born October 8, 1958 in Mansfield and was graduated from Madison High School in 1979.
Hardworking and dedicated, at the age of 12 she began working in the food concessions industry during the summer months. She later owned and operated her own business, Tammie’s Treats, making sugar waffles, elephant ears, and funnel cakes.
She loved the blue water of the Caribbean. To Tammie, there was just something magical about the beach.
An excellent cook, just about everything she prepared was delicious. Family favorites included spaghetti, pumpkin rolls, and sugar cookies, and guests always left carrying a grocery bag of leftovers.
Her interest in music varied from Celine Dion to Keith Urban, but her favorite genre was 80’s rock.
Tammie couldn’t spoil her grandchildren enough. They were her everything and she was such a proud grandma. Showering each one with love, they simply melted her heart.
She is survived by her son Jason (Megan) Day of Lucas and daughter Jamie (Alan) Feeman of Galena; grandchildren Keaton and Cooper Day and Marlee and Paxton Feeman; siblings Judy Moore of Mansfield, Kathy Zediker of Pennsylvania: sister-in-law Deborah Andrews of Mansfield; special friend Laura Yoder of Galena; along with nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Sandra Munro; brother Ronald Andrews; stepmother Beth Andrews; brothers-in-law Jim Moore, Roy Stanley, and Dick Zediker; uncle and aunt Jacob and Marge Erndt.
