T. Darlene Gardner

July 14, 1935 ‒ January 10, 2018

Delaware, Ohio

T. Darlene Gardner, age 82 of Delaware passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Sarah Moore Home in Delaware.

Born on July 14, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Nellie Jane (Maggard) Stevens. Darlene attended Willis High School where she met her beloved husband Byron “Lucky” Gardner; sadly he passed away in 2008.

She was an active member the Delaware Eagles and VFW and took pleasure in participating in their numerous functions. With her friendly nature, she enjoyed socializing with family and friends. She also found joy in painting, racing horses during the Brown Jug, and playing the slots in Las Vegas.  Darlene will be remembered for her fun loving spirit, but most importantly for her love of family.

She is survived by daughter Debra (Randy) Tarrier of Powell, son Leonard (Sharon) Gardner of Delaware, her “Punkin” granddaughter Megan (Richard) Latham of Delaware, great-grandchildren Jackson and Luke, brother Benjamin (Judy) Stevens of Waynesboro, PA, and former son-in-law Larry Weaver of Powell, as well as a host of dear friends.

Services will be observed privately by her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center in Delaware.

  • I’m saddened to hear of Darlene’s passing. May God embrace and comfort her family through their grieving. Sincerely, Sharon Maggard

  • Darlene and my mother graduated from Willis the same years and I remember evenings spent at the house on Panhandle (or Case or whatever) when I was younger. Darlene was a beautiful woman with one of the best smiles I knew — and a personality to go with that lovely smile.
