Susan Ann Kensler, age 68, of Marion, died Saturday January 9, 2021 at Heartland of Marion.
Susan was born in Marion, Ohio to the late Ray and Mary Edna (Williamson) Skatzes on October 6, 1952 and graduated from Harding High School in 1972.
Susan attended Fite Memorial Baptist Church in Marion where she was involved with The Joy Belles. In younger years, Susan enjoyed reading and word searches, crossword puzzles and sewing. She formerly worked at McDonalds and cleaned at the Smith Clinic.
Susan is survived by her husband, Jessie E. Kensler of Marion who she married May 4, 2002; son, Scott (Brandi) Murphy of Bloomville, Ohio; grandchildren, Alexander (Victoria) Murphy, Dalton (Kristian) Murphy, Zachary Murphy, and Noah Murphy; step-children, Gary (Deb) Kensler of Colorado, Sharon (Rob Persinger) Kensler, and Bonnie Wood both of Marion; siblings, Steve (Deb) Skatzes of Virginia, Phyllis Skatzes of Marion, and Alice Daugherty of Marion; nieces and nephews, Amy (Dave) McGowan, Courtney Skatzes, Timya Daugherty, Patrick Daugherty, and Bobby Traylor; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews, one great-grand daughter, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; and fur babies, Putt-Putt and Minnie.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jimmy; and a step-grand-daughter.
An 11 am memorial service will be held at Fite Memorial Baptist Church (497 Davids Street) on Saturday, January 23, 2021; masks will be required. Private family burial will take place in Marion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan’s honor to Snyder Funeral Homes of Marion.
