After retiring, she became very involved in the community and served on the boards of numerous organizations including Altrusa, League of Women Voters, Habitat for Humanity, DKMM Solid Waste District, Regional Planning, and Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission.

She is survived by her daughter Angela (Doug Smith) Yazel, sister-in-law Joan Yazel, and sister-in-law Nancy Sideras. Nieces and nephews Jeff Sideras, Scott Sideras, Jill Kovacs, Kathryn Yazel, Laurie (Jeff) Buroker, David (Albina) Sideras, Mark (Angie) Sideras, and her four-legged grandchildren Abigail and Cisco.

  • My condolences to Sue’s family on your loss. I have known Tudy since first grade and on through high school in the Harding Class of 1954. She did so much for the community and was the glue who held our Class together for all these years. She will be missed by many. Rest In Peace.

  • Sue has been such an active member of our Marion community. We were blessed to have her sit on our Regional Planning Commission. Sue always came with a friendly smile, a great question and a sincere concern for the issues in the community. She will be missed.

  • My condolences to Angie,Doug, and the multitude of friends who mourn her loss. She will be remembered as a bright, articulate, generous and caring lady. She was so giving of her time for family, for community, for her high school friends. I had the honor to work with Sue on 4 of our class’s reunions and “work”she did . It was her passion to involve every one that let her account for the present location of all but 5 of the 308 graduates of Harding after 50 years. Every one contacted had her personal touch that they were welcome. She brought that dedication to all aspects of her life-giving rather than demanding. I send my respect and my certainty that her memory will never dim. Rest in peace, my friend. Larry Geissler
