Stephen E. Mellor Sr., 68, of Brinkhaven passed away on Thursday morning, October 29, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on July 17, 1952 in Glenmont to the late Ralph and Geraldine (Bell Church) Mellor.

Stephen retired from the Briar Hill Stone Company in Glenmont where he worked in the Maintenance Department.  He attended the Church of Christ with his wife, Diantha.  Stephen enjoyed going for rides through the country, watching the deer, but his greatest love was spending time with his pride and joys, the grandkids. He honorably served his country in the Army.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Diantha (Saunders)  Mellor; children, Stephen E. (Melinda Miller) Mellor Jr. of Glenmont, Benjamin (Michelle) Bruff of Mount Vernon and Bill (Sherynn) Bruff of Bellville; grandchildren, Jaden, Jaxon, Brooklyn, Jasper and Jessamine; a sister, Carrol of Arizona; brothers, Larry of Killbuck, Keith of Millersburg, Rudy of Wooster, Sandy of Wooster and Albert of Glenmont; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a sister, Janet and brothers, Delbert and Gary.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Flowers- Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020   with Pastor Andy Beatty officiating.  Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.  The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the funeral on Monday.
