Stanley Atlee Bainter, age 94, of Mount Vernon, formely of West Lafayette, passed away on Thursday August 15, 2013 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was born on December 8, 1918 in Coshocton to the late Jay and Nellie (Johnson) Bainter. Stanley was employed at General Electric in Coshocton where he worked as a color specialist. After retiring from G.E. he owned and operated Maple Tree Kennel of West Lafayette. He was a graduate of the Coshocton High School class of 1936. He was a member of the West Lafayette Rotary and Central Christian Church in Coshocton. Stanley loved long walks in the woods, training bird dogs, hunting, but most of all he loved his wife of 66 years Leora Orleta Courtright.

Stanley is survived by his wife; a son, Phillip D. Bainter of Anderson, S.C.; a daughter, Stephanie Bainter (Ronald) Mahring of Howard, O.H.; Grandson, John Bainter of Beach City, O.H.; and a great-grandson Tyler Bainter of Strasburg, O.H.; a sister Janice W. Adams of Boone, N.C.; and a daughter- in- law Mildred Bainter; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents Stanley is preceded in death by a son John B. Bainter.

The family will observe a Memorial Service on Tuesday August 20, 2013 at 3:00 pm conducted by Rev. Philip Hunt at The Laurels of Mount Vernon; 13 Avalon Rd. Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.
