SHIRLEY ANN SPRANG, 73, of Loudonville died Friday afternoon, September 11, 2020, in Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital after a three-day illness.

She was born June 20, 1947, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Charles J. and Erma L. (Smith) Wise. Shirley grew up on the family farm in Richland County and had lived in the Loudonville-Perrysville area all her life. She was a 1965 graduate of Loudonville High School and worked for a short time for Thermo-Disc in Mansfield before becoming a homemaker and mother.

Shirley was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Perrysville, a life member of VFW Post 8586 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 257 Auxiliary, and a former member of Loudonville Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower gardening, especially if the flowers were red, her favorite color.   Her favorite pastime was taking care of her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Norman R. Sprang, whom she married Oct. 9, 1965; her daughter: Crystal (Randy Ratliff) Brinkerhoff of Loudonville, her son: Charles R. (Kari) Sprang of Loudonville, five grandsons:  Joshua Hicks, Dustin Hicks, Cody Brinkerhoff, Dakota Shook, and Corey (Jessica) Sprang; four great-grandchildren:  Cayden, Michael, and Owynn Hicks, and Brynley Wright-Hicks; and two brothers:  Larry (Ruth Ann) Wise of Loudonville and Glenn Wise of Sandusky.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. in SNYDER FUNERAL HOME – LINDSEY CHAPEL, Loudonville with Rev. Howard Burnett officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville.  The services will be live-streamed on the Snyder Funeral Homes – Lindsey Chapel Facebook page.  Visitors to the funeral home are requested to wear a facemask and follow social distancing protocols.
