Shirley Ann Deel, 75, of Delaware passed away early Saturday morning July 7, 2012 at the Delaware Court Health Care Center. She was born June 25, 1937 in Delaware to James Everett and Alice Madeline (Jones) Bailey. She retired from Ohio Wesleyan University after 23 years of service as head cook and then worked for an additional 7 years in the SACC Program with the Delaware City Schools. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR, camping, and crocheting. She was known for baking cakes especially for weddings and birthdays. She was “always on the go” and her daughters remember her as always taking them to the Richwood Fair. She is survived by 2 daughters, Donna (William) Hostetter of Marion and Linda Jo (Danny) Cameron of Richwood; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother, Jay (Diane) Bailey of Prospect; sister, Judy (Dick) Patrick of Radnor. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Janet Ellen Bailey. The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 10th from 4 – 8 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday July 11th at 11:00 am at the Greenmound Cemetery, Kilbourne. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses or to Odyssey Hospice, 540 Office Center Place, Suite 100, Gahanna, Ohio 43230.
