  • We’ve lost a special lady; heaven has gained another angel. I was the babysitter, Don, Shirley and family were the Tanner’s neighbors. What fond memories I have of Shirley. Linda Lou has kept us in touch all these years……be strong now kids because your Mom taught you good. RIP Shirley. I’ll miss you.

  • Our families have been friends for decades, going all the way back to the St. Vincent school days. We have always held Mrs. Hillier in high regards as she has had a real impact on our whole family. I do not think I have ever called her by her first name. That was because of the respect and the way we were all brought up. Mrs. Hillier had remained a close friend of my Mothers, which meant a lot to all of us. She was a wonderful Mother and a quality person who lived her entire life helping others. On behalf of all the Shafer’s, we send our deepest condolences to the entire Hillier family.

  • To All the Hillier Family, Especially to Kathy,

  • Jim and I stop by to visit Shirley one afternoon when Jackie was with her. She returned a book I had left with her to read. I noticed she had left her book mark in the book. When I went to give it to her she said, no you keep it. I not only have many wonderful memories but a treasure I will keep as it was given with a warm hand.
Jim and I wanted to take her to Mazzas restaurant for a meal but Jim brought Mazzas to her. She loved the Mazzas salad.
Our families go back a long way and Linda was the one I called on to help with my girls. She would let us know how her mom was doing and where she was .
We will miss our friend and will always speak fondly of her.
Our sincere condolences to the family and may they be comforted with the love she had for each of them.

  • Dear Hillier Family,
Linda and I send our deepest sympathy as we think of your loss. I am happy to have known your mom for my entire life. She was always a very special person for my whole family, especially for her pal, my mom. She and Rosemary are having some good laughs again now with all the other angels. It was really great to have seen her just a couple of months ago. She is a wonderful example of a life lived well.
