Shirlee Jo Andrews, 81, of Galion passed away Saturday evening, November 19, 2016 at Galion Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born July 25, 1935 in Urbana, Illinois and was the daughter of John Henry and Wilma Opal (Rich) Young. On November 21, 1953 Shirlee married William A. “Bill” Andrews and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage until his passing on January 6, 2016.

Shirlee was a 1953 graduate of Galion High School and helped her husband with the former Andrews Dairy in Galion. She also worked as a CPA with Accountants Zeller and Yeager and then at Elliott Machine Works until her retirement in 2000. Shirlee formerly attended the First United Methodist Church in Galion and was a life member as well as a former President of the Emblem Club with the Galion Elks Lodge 1191. She enjoyed bowling in a league for many years and traveling with Bill and close friends, known as “the bus people” to flea markets.

She is survived by his daughters A. Jacqueline Littleton of Townville, South Carolina, Julie K. (Eric) Zortman of Nelsonville and Jodi L. Andrews of Galion; 5 grandchildren Janell, Nicole, Mark, Jessica and Cara; 4 great grandchildren; sister Jill (Steve) Wallace of Columbus; niece Lia (David) Milroy of Columbus; nephew John Wallace of Columbus; three great nieces and a great nephew.

She is preceded in death by her parents and by her husband Bill.

A private service will be held for the family and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
