Sherri L. Oswalt, 51, of Fredericktown passed away on Friday evening, January 25, 2019 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born on October 28, 1967 in Columbus to the late Bill and Jane (Layton) Wittman.

Sherri was a STNA and owned her own daycare.  She enjoyed attending county fairs, her dogs and especially spending time with her family. Sherri was a Girl Scout leader and alongside her husband, Ron, they coached their daughter’s softball team for many years.

Sherri is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Oswalt; daughter, Cheyann (Quintin Neff) Oswalt of Fredericktown; sister-in-law, Becky (Sam) Collins of Mount Vernon; brother-in-law, Mike Oswalt of Fredericktown; several nieces and nephews; her canine companions, Crash, Mac and Diesel.

In addition to her parents, Sherri was preceded in death by a grandchild; a sister, Becky; and a brother, Donny.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 East College St., Fredericktown where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

  • I cannot even being to express how heart broken I am. Sherri was a dear family friend, and a second mom to me. I did girl scouts with Cheyann, and her mom babysat my brother and I. She helped raise us for part of our childhood and I always loved going over there and we had so many good times together. I will forever love my momma Sherri and Papa Ronnie. Cheyann is like a sister to me and I love them all so dearly. Stay strong you guys. I love you all. Heaven gained one hell of an amazing angel.
