Sheila A. (Combs) Grassbaugh, age 59, of Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born on August 23, 1957 in Mount Vernon, Ohio the daughter of Earlie and Joyce (Knight) Combs. Sheila previously worked for the former Hillcrest Nursing Home.

She was a former member of Colonial City Moose Lodge #2555 and Fraternal Order of Eagles #760. Sheila enjoyed traveling and working endless hours in her flower garden. She also enjoyed the companionship and unconditional love of her pets. Sheila will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents she is survived by her husband Steve Grassbaugh; two sons, Ross (Emily) Carter of Fredericktown and Shawn (Desirée) Martin of Fredericktown; four grandchildren, Kyle Jones, Christian Carter, Caleb Carter and Willow Martin. She is also survived by her brother, William (Beth) Combs of Bowling Green and mother-in-law, Alice Grassbaugh of Mount Vernon.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown where friends may call from 12 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Ruth Douglas will be officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.

Memorial contributions in Sheila’s name may be made to the Knox County Dog Shelter, 285 Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.

  • In our memory, we can not think of a bad thing. Sheila was always friendly, sweet & loving. Always very positive. She loved gardening and cooking. Always thinking of her husband and kids. I loved talking with her she would make me feel uplifted. She will be dearly missed by all.

  • Ive known Sheila combs for about 44 years. She was so sweet and kind. I got 2 know her and Brenda Clark at church. I often still think of the good ole days. Sheila will always b in my heart.
