July 14, 1938 ‒ December 17, 2020
Sharon Wittman, 82, of Galion passed away after years of battling chronic health issues, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Capital City Gardens in Columbus.
She was born July 14, 1938 in Killeen, Texas and was the daughter of Charles Walker, Jr. and Norma Jewel (Ray) Swope.
In her high school days, she was known as a “talker.” Sharon was incredibly smart and could figure out things faster than most people. She would finish the New York time crossword in 20 minutes and could think “outside the box.” Sharon had a light sense of humor and enjoyed helping others.
She was a member of the AMVETS Polk Township Post 1979, American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 and the Army-Navy Garrison 987 all of Galion and had been active with the Special Wish Foundation.
Sharon is survived by daughter Georgia (Gary) Farr-Stanifer of Madison Heights, Michigan; sons Scott Owen (Toni) Farr of Shelby Township, Michigan and Ronald LeRoy Jr. (Amanda) Lucy, of Dublin, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great great-grandchild and two brothers David and Mark Swope both of Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Wittman.
Following her wishes, there will be no formal service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in care of the funeral home.
