Sharon K. Francis, 71, of Galion passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 5, 1944 in Portsmouth and was the daughter of John R. Ginn and Gladys (Overstreet) Ginn-Shaw. Sharon is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arthur W. Francis whom she married on December 9, 1961.

She worked as a telephone operator for GTE, was a former bus driver for Northmor Schools and later managed the Thistlewood Apartments in Mt. Gilead retiring in 2004. Sharon enjoyed cooking, painting and especially cherished the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters Tamma (Kevin) McDougle of Galion, Ellen (Mark) Wagers of Mansfield and Lana (Doug) Hatcher of Galion; seven grandchildren Marc (Rebekah) Wagers of Mansfield, Ashley (Bart) Kehres of Columbus, Andrew (Samantha) Wagers of Cambodia, Joshua Hatcher of Columbus, Amanda Hatcher of Galion, Jordyn Hatcher of Lexington and Chris Hatcher of Galion; five great grandchildren Paisley Kehres, Chet Wagers, Dom Wagers, Liam Wagers and Brexton Kehres.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Province and Lucille Stitzel and a brother, James Ginn.

Private services will be held for the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in care of the funeral home.
