Shannon D. Wyman, age 40, of Newark, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. She was born on January, 16, 1977 in Fort Polk, LA, to William “Bill” and Sheri (Burr) Wyman.

Shannon graduated from Fallbrook High School in California in 1996, and moved to Mount Vernon, OH, in 2000. Shannon enjoyed fishing with her family at Foundation Park, concerts and loved her dogs very much.  Most of all she loved being around her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Christian and Sierra Wyman; parents; sisters, Shauna Avery, Shasta (Eli) Jones; brother, Stephen Fitzgerald; grandmother, Helen Burr; and boyfriend, Chuck Glasmeier.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Rd, Mount Vernon, OH, 43050. Burial will follow in Brandon Cemetery.

  • We are so sorry to hear of Shannon’s passing. My husband and I knew her from going to Dan’s Resturant. Shannon was always so kind and sweet. She always came to our table even when not serving us just to see how were doing and just to say Hi. I know how much she loved her children and always worried about them growing up in this crazy world. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.   • I never forget meeting Shannon at Tee Jays. Shannon and I became good friends and I became her hairstylist for alittle while when I still lived in town. Last time I seen her at Dan’s she told me that she missed me and we need to get together soon. Well Shannon I’m so sorry we never got together but please know… you and your family are in my thoughts however be ready to get a huge hug when we meet again. Sure will miss you!

  • I’m truly sorry for your whole families lose and especially for Siarra and she loved them more tjem life its self. Shannon was a good friend of mine for over 12 years or so. We were roommates for six month in the Coragee House.. We would spend hours talking late at night when we were supposed to be asleep. She helped me though some hard times during that time.After we both got our of the Courage house we both got in to the housing Coalition , she would have me over for dinner at her apartments near Chirstal Lake
    She was such a wonderful person , who card so much about other people and their feelings. She always tried to make sure know one was left out at get togethers or rehab. I will turly miss Shanom . Why does God always take the.good ones first

I am so sorry for your loss I just spoke with her a week before and she talk about her furbabies n her kids she had so much love prayers to her daughter and son n furbabies may God bless n help you through this time..   • I WAS FORTUNATE TO HAVE SHANNON AS A FRIEND. I DON’T THINK SHE KNEW HOW MUCH SHE WAS LOVED & VALUED TO ALL OF US. I NEVER MET A MORE GIVING, CARING PERSON.
