At least they are together in heaven, at peace from this crappy place right now. Seth was such a great guy and friend. • Wow, that’s a big vacant spot that won’t be filled soon enough. I keep seeing ‘gentle giant’ come up here in the comments, and that’s because it is so true.
He was also quite the trout fisherman on the capitol creek in Colorado. I always said he caught more than I did because he got there before I did, I found it much easier to get through all the briars and brambles if I followed behind Seth ‘Dozer’ Yarman clearing a path. I figured it was a good idea to stay close to Seth out there anyway in case you spooked a mama bear, they would surely go the other direction when they got a look at Seth ‘Sasquatch’ Yarman.
It didn’t bother me that Seth caught more fish than I did because his tasted just as good as the ones I caught after Gene and Tim fried them up in the bacon grease from breakfast. I expect there are a few more ‘Seth nicknames’ out there, I’ll be watching for them.

  • I was saddened to see of Seth’s passing. He was definitely one of the good guys in this world.

    Rest in Peace

  • Tim and family, my heart felt condolences to you all and so many prayers being sent. Seth was very much loved by many and he will be a a guardian Angel for all.

  • Back in high school football practice…1978…a lot of the bigger guys would pick on us scrawny little freshmen. But not Seth, he was always nice to me. I will always remember that.

  • Jane. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family. May your precious memories help you through this time.

  • Seth was a very amazing guy who had a heart of gold. I still can’t believe this. Even on his down days, he always had a smile. He will be missed by so many.

  • Yarman family, was very saddened and sorry to here the news. Seth was truly a special man. He was very kind and gentle and would do just about anything for you. I got to know Seth when I moved up from the big city. He took me under his wing and we had a blast. He was the kind of friend that you would talk to for a year and when you get together it was like you left off yesterday. There will always be a empty hole in my life. He will truly be missed. RIP Bro and God bless.

  • I was so sorry to hear of Seth’s passing. I hadn’t see him in awhile but we had a blast at the career center back in the day. What a wonderful person he was to all who knew him. Thanks Seth for being such a good friend. Sending prayers for your family. RIP old friend.

  • My son went to school with Seth. We had never met him. My son asked if he could bring a friend home for the weekend. I’m only 4’10 & when Seth got out of the car, I thought, “Oh my, how am I going to feed Paul Bunyan.” He went to the grocery store with us & opened a bag of cookies there in the store & I told him he couldn’t do that because I hadn’t paid for them yet; but he said, “My mom lets me!” Needless to say, I did not argue with him. We enjoyed Seth’s company very much that weekend and he was welcome to come back any time. Our prayers are with Seth’s family as you grieve and we are very saddened for your loss.

  • I am so sorry for your loss. I had known Seth since kindergarten at Amity. It has been awhile since I’ve seen Seth but when I would run into him he would give me a big hug. Class of 1981

  • Sending love from afar. After talking with my mom and learning of Seth’s passing, I was flooded with memories of Seth, my aunt, uncle and the whole crew of cousins I call family. As a child, Seth to me was larger than life; his sheer size, booming deep voice and hearty laugh where things that brought awe and wonder to my mind. As I hid Easter eggs for my daughter I told my husband tales of the many Easter egg hunts on the farm where my cousins, Seth included, would hide eggs all over the farm. Of the times I would watch him haul wood for my grandmother, he did hard labor with ease as if it was in his blood…it was. Of the times on the pond fishing and out fishing Seth (and Tim) that one time and gleefully singing “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen and taunting my older cousins as only a young child can do. Seth could have crushed me, but it was all taken in stride and the baratone laugh ever present.

  • Thoughts and prayers to the family
Amazing how many lives he touched in his lifetime

I have known Seth and his brother, Tim since I was a youngster at Amity Elementary School. Seth was a kind and caring. He did not appear to know a stranger and that was certainly a gift from God.

Our family is truly sorry for your loss. We would like to offer you and your family our deepest and most sincere condolences. May our prayers ease you through this difficult time.

  • All I have done since your death is think about all the memories that we shared, and there are so many. I am so saddened by your passing Seth. You truly were, one of a kind. We had so much fun together, even though I believe you had to protect me more times than it was worth. Dad always said you were a wonderful man and he always liked you, I would have to agree with him there. Reading everyone’s love for you doesn’t surprise me any. You gave me one of my greatest gifts in life and I will always love you for that. Take care of all those big trucks in the great farm above and know that you truly were loved by everyone. You will be missed. RIP my friend.

  • Sad day Seth was a good guy do about anything for any one …God bless ..sad to see your gone ..prayers to all your family…

  • It was a true blessing to know The Yarman’s over the past years, Zollars mud runs, I sometimes ran parts to Seth.. He was always in a positive mood, we’d shoot the crap a bit.. Catch up on life.. I just seen Seth at DG store in Amity 2 weeks ago, I’m thankful God gave me that gift of that encounter, conversation, I will treasure that…
(I was in back of the store, I heard Seth talking to someone, his voice carried, bigger than life… I said out loud, Seth Yarman is in the house) He smiled, Jodi, we lol, we spoke briefly..
I hope he knows how much he is loved, his integrity was real, Seth is a true friend..
He never knew a stranger.. Rest well my friend…

  • Tim just stopped by and told me today. I’m so sorry I didn’t know earlier. Seth was a good guy, and we always had a good time together. I remember coming out from New Jersey every other summer or so and spending time together. It was the highlight of my summer. I couldn’t wait to get to Ohio to see everybody, and really looked forward to seeing Seth, Tim, Sara, Laura and Heather. We always had a blast together. He will be missed. At least we had the time together that we did. Those man-hunt games on the farm and green moss fights at the pond will go down in history. God bless!!
