Scott P. Faulds

August 26, 1957 ‒ September 23, 2011

Canton, Ohio

“Life is long if it is full” is the saying that best describes Scott Faulds’ fun loving and adventurous life. When he wasn’t devoting his time to his treasured family, especially his six grandchildren, Scott was sharing his passion for scuba diving, not only as a diver but also as a certified NAUI instructor. When not in the water, he enjoyed golfing with his friends.

A life-long Galion resident, Scott loved his job as a salesman because he could socialize daily with people and utilize his engaging personality and quick wit. This, coupled with his 34 year knowledge and love of the refuse industry, allowed him to be exceptional at his job and build many long-lasting friendships.

Scott was energetic, extremely hard working and creative. There wasn’t a project he couldn’t tackle. Of his many positive qualities, one of his most remembered will be his incredible ability to tell a joke on any subject at any given moment, which brought much laughter to those around him.

Most recently Scott was a Regional Sales Manager for Schaefer Systems International of Charlotte, N.C. Previously, he was a long-time employee of Peabody/McClain in Galion where he held many positions, beginning as a technical illustrator, eventually rising to Vice President of National Sales.

Surrounded physically by his loving family and spiritually by his many friends, Scott passed away peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2011 at home after a very courageous and hard fought nine-month battle with cancer.

Born August 26, 1957 in Canton, to the late Donald P. and Doris Jeffreys Faulds, Scott graduated from Galion High School in 1975.

Survived by his high school sweetheart, diving buddy and beloved wife of 35 years, Lynn Marks, Scott is also survived by three children, Ryan Eileen of Lewis Center, Nicole Matt Pawsey of Galion and Eric Mary of Galion; six grandchildren, Ian and Holden Faulds, Madelyn Pawsey and Ashton, Kaley and Eli Faulds; one brother, Donald Rosie of Galion; three sisters, Sandie Cal Merrill of Wooster, Pamela Dale Hager of Raleigh, N.C. and Claudia Ken Deisch of Galion; brother-in-law, Joe Basciano of Corona, Calif.; his father-in-law, Bob Fran Marks of Sebring, Fla. and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Steven; two sisters, Kelli Faulds and Janice Basciano and his mother-in-law, Martha Marks.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 135 N. Liberty Street, Galion, with Deacon Greg Kirk officiating. Scott’s family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the St. Joseph Parish Activity Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to HomeCare Matters Hospice or DAN – Diver’s Alert Network in care of Richardson-Davis Funeral Home, 218 S. Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833.
