Sarah D. Pargeon, 65, of Mount Gilead, died Sunday May 20, 2007 at the Morrow Manor Nursing Center in Chesterville.
She was born on August 26, 1941 in Gambier, Ohio the daughter of the late Hallie Jay and Betty P. (Veatch) Ashburn.
Sarah spent most her life in Knox County, where she spent her childhood attending school in Gambier.
She married her loving husband Harold S. Pargeon on February 27, 1959.
She was an excellent bowler and a true sports fans; rooting for the Cleveland Indians and Browns.
Her grandson, through his involvement in drag racing, peaked her interest in the sport.
She also enjoyed her quiet time; getting lost in a mystery or romance novel maybe by one of her favorite authors, Danielle Steel or Nora Roberts.
Sarah was most proud of her family and their various accomplishments. She truly enjoyed time spent together as family.
She will be missed her two daughters Pari (Willard) Fissell of Johnsville, Ohio and Carla (Larry) Counts of Mount Gilead, Ohio; two sons Stan (Tootie) Pargeon of Utica, Ohio and Scott (Diana) Pargeon of Frazeysburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren Cameron, Sarah, Ryan, Alisha, Whitney, Zachery, and Corine; two great grandchildren Aliyah and Caiden ; her brother David (Connie) Ashburn of Commerce Township, Michigan; and two sisters Mary Joann (Horace) Shipman and Edith (Kenneth) Woodruff both of Utica, Ohio.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold in July of 1981; three brothers Lee “Sonny”, Larry, and James Ashburn; and a sister Nancy Thorn.
Pastor Bruce Hissong will conduct a memorial service on Friday May 25, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northside Church of Christ, 4588 Marion Road, Newark, Ohio 43055.
Calling hours will not be observed.
Private burial of cremains will take place at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown at a later date.
Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the church.
