MANSFIELD: Sarah Alexis Jackson, age 72 of Mansfield passed away Friday evening, September 23, 2011 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.

She was born October 14, 1938 in Paterson, NJ, the only daughter of Walter Bertram and Helen Marie (Kearney) Lambert. Sarah was graduated from Santa Maria Union High School in 1956, and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loretta Heights College in 1965. Sarah also completed her Masters degree in Psychatric Nursing, a Masters degree in Education and a Doctorate in Education.

For five years she was a professor of nursing at Rio Hondo College, and retired from College of Sequoias in 1995 with over 15 years of teaching there. Following retirement she and her husband relocated to the Mansfield area.

On July 11, 1992 she married Robert Andrew Jackson who preceded her in death in 1999.

Strong in her Catholic faith, Sarah was a dedicated member of Resurrection Parish.

She is survived by three brothers and their spouses Matt and Rita Lambert of Rohnert Park, California, Walter Bertrum Lambert, Jr. and Frank and Barbara Lambert all of Ramah, New Mexico. Sarah is also survived by a niece Patricia Lambert and two nephews Andrew Lambert and Stephen Lambert.

Friends may call Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 9 am to 10:15 am in the vestibule of Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio 44904 where her burial mass will be offered at 10:15 am. The Very Rev. Father Nelson Beaver will officiate and burial will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is assisting the Jackson family with funeral arrangements.
