Sandra was a graduate of Westerville High School in the class of 1957 and later worked as a cook for Westerville Schools for over 25 years until her retirement.  Sandra loved to cook for her family and friends.  She made the best birthday cakes and those that knew and loved her will remember the candies she made; so beautiful and delicious they could have been sold in a candy shop.

Sandra has been a member of St. John Neumann church since they attended worship at the middle school.

She also loved to sew and was active with “My Very Own Blanket” in Westerville.  A non-profit that made blankets for foster children. She was passionate about her flower garden as well.

You can’t talk of Sandra and her life without mentioning her love of Elvis.  She and Dan made several trips to see Mike Albert, Elvis Tribute Concert.  Most notably, a special surprise concert when they were in Las Vegas.

Sandra’s legacy will be that of her family.  She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren, everything revolved around them and what was happening in their lives.

She will be missed by her husband Dan; their children Judy (Gary) Buyer of Sunbury, Mark Curtis of Delaware, Lisa (Charlie) Thompson of Delaware, and Jack (Mella) Curtis of Marion; 15 grandchildren Andy, Justin, Tommy, Shane, Charlie, Dilon, Travis, Jessa, Skylar, Trystan, Amber, Jack, Kassidy, Sandra, and Erica, 6 great grandchildren; and her sister Bonnie Panattoni of Simi Valley, California.

  • I miss my sister so much. She was like a second mother to me since Mother and Dad both worked when I was young. She always cooked the meals and allowed me to do the dishes. She taught me to sew as she was so great at it. For several years I was able to spend a vacation with Sandy and Danny. Sometimes the vacation was in Ohio, up at the lake; and sometimes in Las Vegas where we enjoyed going into the quilt shops and site seeing Hoover Dam or just enjoying the beautiful desert areas.
I know and accept that she is at peace but will dearly miss our conversations.
I love you sis! ’til we meet again.
    Bonnie

  • Danny I remember all the fun you and Sandy had with us at dances and going to West Virginia with our ski group and staying in a cabin. She was always such a good cook and I did attend her ceramic classes which she made us all do well with our work. So sad and sorry for your loss but she is in heaven with the Lord and he will take good care of her until the rest of us all see her again. God Bless and may she rest in peace.
