Salvatore Samuel Tamburino, 92, of Centerburg formerly of Florida passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Saint Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. He was born on November 6, 1915 at Rome, New York, a son of the late Gabriel and Emanuela (Porta) Tamburino.
Salvatore served in the United States Navy during W.W.II and earned the rank of Seaman 2nd Class and was classified 100% disabled by the Veteran’s Administration with Service Connected Injuries. He was a member of many Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts and American Legions across the United States. Salvatore was a Catholic by faith.
Salvatore is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine M. and Victor C. Stanson of Howard, Ohio.
In following with Salvatore’s wishes, he will be cremated. The family will have a memorial service at a later date and his ashes will be scattered in the ocean near a San Diego Naval Base per his request.
