Ruthann Jones

February 05, 1943 ‒ November 07, 2018

Galion, Ohio

Ruthann Jones, 75, of Galion passed away November 7, 2018 at home after a sudden illness.

Born February 5, 1943 in Galion, she was the daughter of Daniel and LelaBelle (Sipe) Knipp.

Ruthann worked as a clerk for the United Parcel Service, retiring in 2004. She was very religious and was a “woman of many talents.” Remembered as a good craftsman and as a hard worker, she enjoyed working in her yard and taking care of her animals. She was a wonderful seamstress, loved everyone and was very forgiving, never holding a grudge.  Ruthann was a proud resident of Galion, calling it her “Paradise.” Family and friends always enjoyed being around her due to her adventurous, independent spirit and zest for life. She woke up every day excited for the challenges for her to tackle.

Surviving are her daughter and son–in-law, Sherry (Scot) Pagani of Galion; grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Pagani of Cary, N.C. and Jessica (Tony) Powell of Galion; great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Catherine Pagani; sister, Mary (Frank) Varnes of Galion and former husband, Richard Jones of Galion.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Lohr and Donna Schill.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County in care of the funeral home.

Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes in Galion is honored to serve the family of Ruthanne Jones, and condolences may be made to them at www.SnyderFuneralHomes.com.

  • Grandma,

I am so heartbroken and 7000 miles away from anybody that loves me… Words cannot even begin to tell how much I missed you and miss you… We just talked earlier in the week and now you’re gone. I’m so happy you got to meet your first great grandchild. You already loved her so much. I could just see how you looked at her. That’s who you were. I don’t even know what to say… I wish I could just be home right now with my family. You were the pillar of our family by virtue of love. I promise to carry on your memory to Ryleigh. I love you… ❤️

    Love,
    Matt
