Ruth M. Mosier

MANSFIELD: Ruth M. Mosier, 88, of Logan Road, Mansfield, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 in Woodlawn Health Care and Rehabilitation following an extended illness.
She was born March 15, 1918 in Mansfield to Ernest Earl and Abbie (Keller) Shade. With the exception of six years in Freeport, Maine, Ruth remained a lifelong area resident.
Ruth was talented at needlepoint and crocheting. Her best work was making beautiful outfits for dolls. Ruth collected Barbies, over 300 in all. She made each Barbie a unique ornate dress complete with accessories. She also enjoyed reading and a hand of euchre now and then.
Ruth dearly loved to watch the Cleveland Indians, and rarely missed a game. She sometimes took in a NASCAR race, and other sporting events.
A loving wife and devoted mother, Ruth was a homemaker first and foremost.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Margie Mosier of Mansfield, and Jack and Kim Mosier of Ballston Spa, New York, a daughter and son-in-law Marcia and Martin Meeker of Mansfield, eight grandchildren Sheri Mosier Haas, Vicki Mosier Haas, Jack Mosier, Jr., Michelle Dimmerling, Michael Naumann, Rebecca Meginnis, Annie Mosier and Laura Mosier, eight great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, a sister Beatrice Burgess of Riverview, Florida, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth William Mosier on December 12, 1979, a son Dewey Lee Mosier on April 10, 1986, three brothers Otis, Russell, and Emmett Shade, and three sisters Edith Burr, Mildred Witchey, and Hester Shade.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 12, 2006 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am. Pastor George Reece will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions to Four Square Gospel Church may be made at the funeral home.
