Ruth M. MacAdam

Ruth M. MacAdam, 98, of Galion, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion.
Born Feb. 11, 1914 in Iberia, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Cox Furney. She was preceded in death on Dec. 25, 1996 by her husband, John A. MacAdam, whom she married on Apr. 11, 1936.
Ruth was a graduate of Iberia High School in 1930 and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also was a former member of the Machinists Lodge 1181 Auxiliary.
Surviving are one son, Wesley J. MacAdam of Arlington, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Sarah MacAdam of Tonawanda, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Kimberly MacAdam of N. Tonawanda, N.Y., Russell MacAdam of Coopersburg, Penn. and Andrew MacAdam of Harrisonburg, Va. and five great-grandchildren, Christian, Alanna, Kaitlin, Allison and Gabrielle.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Dale MacAdam; a stillborn daughter, Janet Arlene MacAdam; one brother, Earl Furney and one sister, Edna Burkhart.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Galion where a funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Julie Fogle officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery next to her husband.
