Ruth Maxine Hazlett, 84, of 420 Grant Street, Galion, died Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Galion Community Hospital, after a short illness.
Born January 11, 1921 in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Peter Raymond and Edith Mayo Raymond. She was the beloved wife of James R. Jim Hazlett whom she married on May 21, 1942 who survives.
She was a member of Southview Baptist Church where she enjoyed being very active in all aspects of her church. She loved and cared for all animals including many strays she nursed back to health throughout the years. In 1953 she and he husband started Galion Laundry Service and later worked at Tiger Cleaners in Galion for many years.
Surviving are her one son and daughter-in-law, T. Jerry and Kathie Hazlett of Homewood, Ill.; five grandchildren, Toby Hazlett, Jerren Helwig, Aaron Hazlett, Adam Hazlett and Sara Hazlett and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Strayer.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, December 26, 2005 at Southview Baptist Church where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 26, 2005 with Pastor David Cline officiating. Interment will be at Mansfield Memorial Park.
