JOHNSVILLE: Ruth Eva Baker, 95, of State Route 314, died Wednesday afternoon May 28, 2003 in Village Care Center, Galion.
She was born November 24, 1907 in Martins Ferry to Theodore “Cy” and Emma Smith Poulton and had lived in the Johnsville area most of her life.
A homemaker, loving mother, and devoted grandmother Ruth enjoyed crocheting, quilting and cooking. Music was a big part of Ruth’s life, she enjoyed singing and playing the piano.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law Virginia Fidler of Johnsville and Barbara and Bill Vanderkooi of Galion; four sons and three daughters-in-law Theodore D. “Ted” and Martha Baker of Jasper, FL, David P. Baker of Jennings, FL, Roger J. and Jean Baker and Joseph R. and Rosemary Baker all of Lexington; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Baker in 1978; two sons Robert N. Baker and Ronald Baker; and three brothers.
Friends may call Sunday, June 1, 2003 from 2-4 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Monday at 11am. Pastor Brent Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
