Ruth Arlene (Rood) Forsythe, age 90, of Westerville, Ohio passed into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at home.

Ruth was born in Letart, WV July 1, 1918 to the late Harold and Esther (Brown) Rood. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Guy Forsythe in 1961 and both of her brothers, Paul Leslie Rood and wife LaVera, Gerald Brown Rood and wife Kathryn Ann, brothers-in-law Roy Forsyth and wife Lucille, John Forsyth, Lester Leininger, sister-in-law Ruth (Forsyth) Glick and husband Harvey and nephew Gary Rood.

She is survived by sister Kathleen (Rood) Steele and brother-in-law Robert Steele, children John Warren Bland and wife Sharon of Galena, OH, Ann Louise (Austin) Eggleston and husband Glenn of Lady Lake, FL and Guy Stephen Forsythe and wife Cindy of Sedona, AZ, sisters-in-law Blanche (Forsyth) Leininger and Sara (McKercher) Forsyth, her grandchildren Elaine (Bland) Fetherhoff, Robin (Bland) Collier, Jennifer (Bland) Heyder and husband Rolly, Gary Bland and wife Amy, Mindy (Forsythe) Kohsman and husband Ron, Tyler Forsythe, great grandchildren Lindsey Collier, Kelsey Collier, Joey Heyder, Blake Heyder, Brady Bland, Andrew Bland and Evan Kohsman, Nephews Larry, Gordon, Bill and Richard Rood, Mark Steele, Bill Forsyth and Don Leininger, nieces Becky (Steele) Krasovich, Lynn (Steele) Hoffman, Jeannine (Forsyth) Rostorfer, Kay (Forsyth) Hunt, Phyllis (Leininger) Snyder and Ardath (Barker) Boyer along with many great nephews and nieces.

Ruth was very active in the antique business and achieved national and international fame with the publishing of her two books on and the auctioning of her extensive collection of Czechoslovakian glass and pottery.

Family and friends may call Sunday May 31 from 2-6 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. State Route 61, Sunbury, where services will be Monday at 10:00AM with Pastor Wayne Booth officiating. Internment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
