Ruth A. Haspeslagh, 81, of 363 Carmel Avenue, Galion, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003 in Galion Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Born July 26, 1921 in Bellefontaine, OH, she was the daughter of the late Charles Byers and Pearl Mix Byers.

She was a graduate of Crestline High School in 1939 and a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Galion.

She enjoyed being a member of the Galion Golden Age Club, where she enjoyed teaching knitting and crocheting. She helped make newborn knit caps for Galion Community Hospital and also knit caps for U.S. Military personnel serving in Iraq. She enjoyed her family, friends and flowers and was a homemaker.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Diana Haspeslagh, of Galion a daughter, Polly Pulos, of Akron, a grandson and his wife, Gregory and Jennifer Pulos, five granddaughters, Nicole Pulos, Ashlee, Katie, Mindy and Missy Haspeslagh, a step-great-grandson, Andrew Craffey and a sister, Dixie Frum of Galion.

She was preceded in death by husband Ray R. Haspeslagh, November 9, 1995 and a brother, Richard Byers.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday with Rev. Timothy Keeler officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
