BELLVILLE: Russell Lee Jackson, age 77, of Durbin Road, Bellville, died Thursday morning August 2, 2001 in his home following a short illness.

He was born January 6, 1924, in Milton, WV, to Amos & Minerva (Stanley) Jackson and had live in the Bellville area the past 24 years.

A veteran of W.W.II, Mr. Jackson served with the US Army in the European Theater.

Trained as an electrician during the war, Russell became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and worked for the Hoosier Construction Company until his retirement.

An avid woodcrafter, Russell enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife Louise (Bradford) Jackson, whom he married April 2, 1977; four sons and daughters-in-law Larry & Marge Jackson of Las Vegas, NV, Jeff & Trish Jackson of Milton, WV, Dale & Linda Jackson of Bellview, FL, and Mr. And Mrs. Steve Jackson in Kentucky; two step daughters and their husbands Carolyn & Roger Ritchie of Tuppers Plains and Aurelia & David Jones of Austintown; five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; two sisters Edna Davis of Milton, WV, and Clarcie Mays of Huntington, WV; and two brothers Floyd Jackson of Muncie, IN, and Harry Jackson of Milton, WV.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call tonight, Friday August 3, 2001, from 6-8 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 pm. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
