Ruby M Magee

LEXINGTON: Ruby M. Magee, 86, of Lexington, passed away after a short illness Thursday evening May 29, 2008 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.
Ruby was born in Ashland County on May 16, 1922. She was the daughter of Alvin L. and Lottie Eyman Metcalf and was a member of the First English Lutheran Church of Mansfield.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Chis” Magee, who passed away in 1983. Her loving memories of Chis were often shared with all who loved and cherished her. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lester Metcalf and her seven sisters Alda Baker, Mildred Easterday, Freida Krupp, Martha Merrin, Zelma Seiter, Edna Sours and Norma Jean Young.
Ruby is survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will remember her fondly. She also leaves behind many adopted loved ones and dear friends who became part of her family.
Ruby worked as a hairdresser in her home for more than 40 years and enjoyed the relationships she built with her beloved friends and clients.
Ruby was known for her youthful attitude and drive to stay active. She cut hair five days a week at her shop in her home. She was a regular at Kroger’s where she made many friends. Ruby was known for her kindness and generosity, everyone who knew her enjoyed her love of sharing Dove chocolates and other special treats. Her care and attention included even the birds-of-the-air, as she delighted in feeding the hummingbirds and always threw raisins for the robins. She was an excellent cook and baked fabulous pies and cookies. Ruby was loved by all whose lives she touched!
At Aunt Ruby’s request, no public service will be held. Interment will be in Mansfield Memorial Park next to her beloved Chis. The Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home (Former Finefrock Funeral Home) is honored to serve the Magee Family.
