Roy L. Minnick, age 61 of Delaware passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, April 1st, 2013 in the emergency room of Grady Memorial Hospital.

Born in Steubenville on August 13, 1951, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Phyllis (Candoo) Minnick. A Delaware resident for the past 31 years, he worked as a mechanic. He was formerly employed with Delaware Marine and Mac Tools.

A fan of BMX Biking, which he enjoyed with his son, he had formerly co-operated the Pacer Track in Delaware. Roy was also a gate starter for BMX Racing across the state of Ohio. He also repaired bikes, donating many of them to youth of Delaware.

He enjoyed a passion for fishing, boating, and collecting pocket knives and watches. Quiet in nature, he was level headed and a thoughtful advisor. Gentle in spirit he also could be a prankster, often giving out million dollar bills on your birthday.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 39 years: Barbara (Mecannic) Minnick, son Bill (Kristie) Minnick of Marengo, daughter Jennifer (Clint) Calvin of Delaware, 5 grandchildren: Rider, Caitlin, Mackenzie, Victoria, Cadence, sisters Karen (Chuck) Walker of Toronto, Stephanie (James) King of South Port, NC, nieces, nephews, and a great-niece.

In keeping with his wishes services will be observed privately by his family.
