Rosemary “Rosie” Deel, age 67, of Mount Gilead, passed away to her heavenly home Sunday evening, February 22, 2015 , at the Morrow County Hospital.

On May 31, 1947, Rosemary was born in Towanda, PA, the daughter of the late Floyd and Carrie (Bailey) Vanderpool. She graduated from Towanda High School in the Class of 1965.

For many years, she worked for Country Meadows in Bellville as the assistant activities director. She was also employed by Signature Home Health out of Lexington.

A woman of deep faith, Rosie attended Pleasant Grove Church of Christ and became a member this past year.

Rosie treasured antiques and collecting many different things.   She could not pass up a good yard sale or flea market. She enjoyed reading books, completing crossword puzzles and word searches, and scratch off lottery tickets. She loved music and had a little bit of a crush on Willie Nelson.

Family held a special place in Rosie’s heart and she cherished spending time with them, especially at Christmas every year. She was a wonderful, nurturing woman who was loved by everyone. She had a great sense of humor and always ended up the center of attention.

Rosemary will be dearly missed by her husband, Troy, of Mount Gilead; five children: Deana Alexander of Carey, OH, Dean Alexander Jr. of Galion, Krista (Jeff Lutz) Alexander of Gilmer, TX, Jeff (Lori) Alexander of Galion, Tony (Devyn) Deel of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren: Kristopher, Joshua (Kylee), Michael, Karcey, Noah; a granddaughter on the way, Bailey; two great grandchildren: Grace and Jaxtin; one brother, Floyd (Irene) Douglas of Georgia; two sisters: Joann (Lynn) Crayton of Towanda, PA, Sue (Dave) Sills of Ithaca, NY; two close nieces: Teresa Downing of Mount Gilead, and Donna Crayton of Towanda, PA; and her two beloved dogs: Dixie and Dusty.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Rosemary’s family will greet friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services celebrating her life will be held there at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015 with Pastor Don Linn officiating. Burial will follow in North Fork Cemetery.
