Rosemary Franchon Dean, age 89, of Hiawatha Apts. Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed on to be with the Lord Monday April 5, 2004. She was born January 14, 1915, in Arthur, Illinois, and grew up there. She moved to Decatur, Illinois, married and raised her family in that community. In later years she was an active volunteer with the Decatur Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Dean moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio in February of 1994. She enjoyed the community and made many friends and acquaintances here. Those who know her loved her.

Her mother Mary, her stepfather James Barke and her husband of 47 years John E. Dean Sr. preceded her in death.

She is lovingly remembered and survived by sons: John E. (Johann Emily) Dean of Mount Vernon and Larry J. Dean of Decatur; three grandchildren Douglas Scott (Debbie) Dean of Ballwin, Mo., Grant Matthew (Elaine Marie) Dean of Kettering, Oh. And Brett Madison (Wendy) Dean of Atlanta, Ga. And four great-grandchildren Andrew Michael, Ryan Christopher, Sullivan Matthew “Sully” and three week old Morgan Marie. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and dearest friend Betty Ramsey.

Her family is grateful for the professional and compassionate care and services given Rosemary by Dr. Robert Rodstrom, Dr. J. Pala, Dr. Deborah J. Reeder and all other health care professionals that added to the quality of the happy days she enjoyed during her 10 years here.

Pastor Jerry Moore of Grace Fellowship Church will conduct graveside services at 2 PM on Thursday April 8, 2004 at Mound View Cemetery. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
