Rosemary Dowley, age 77 of Delaware passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Riverside Hospital.
She was born on January 13, 1936 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late George and Mary (Roscoe) Thimmes. A Delaware resident since 1992, she had worked as a diamond and gem sales representative. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and generous in countless ways. A gifted story teller, she easily captured everyone’s attention with her gregarious nature.
A woman of deep faith, she attended St. Mary Church when she was able. She considered Delaware home and her cat Thomas held a special place in her heart. Rosemary enjoyed various arts and crafts, as well as collecting her various treasures, many of which included her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons: James C. (LeeAnne) Dowley of Delaware, Tim (Margaret) Dowley of Columbus, Michael P. (Ashlee) Dowley of Grand Rapids, Michigan, 7 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren, Brother: Fred (Bonnie) Thimmes, Sister: Suzanne (Bob) Breckenridge of Columbus, loving companion Bob Bayless of Delaware, and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband James Dowley, and loving companion Eugene Thomas.
Friends may call Friday 10:00 – 12:00 noon at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where services will follow at Noon, with Rev. Fr. James Black officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center.
