Ronald L. “Spanky” Spangler, 79, of Galion passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Avita Galion Hospital.

He was born March 19, 1941 in Iberia and was the son of the late Charles W. and Audrey (Bashford) Spangler. Ronald is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda M. (Britz) Spangler whom he married on September 21, 1974.

He graduated from Iberia High School and was an owner/operator truck driver for Dearman Moving & Storage and United Van Lines. Ronald enjoyed NASCAR, loved camping and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Kathy (Scott) Evans of North Carolina and Kristi (Dennis Wilson) Kempf of Marion; son, Kevin Spangler of Galion; four grandchildren, Stefani (Dwight) Bell, Ashton Barlow all of California, Cyrus Williams and Sydney Kempf both of Marion; one great-granddaughter, Rosaleigh Williams of Marion; sister, Pamela Burgan of Galion; brother, Lynn (GiGi) Spangler of Mt. Gilead and numerous nieces and nephews.

Following his wishes, there will be no formal services held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society serving Crawford County in care of the funeral home.
