Ronald E. Hull, age 74, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Ron was born on September 28, 1943 in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to the late Lawrence and Bertha (Tier) Hull.

Ron was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and Joined the Navy in 1961. He was very proud of his service to his country and was honored to be on the USS Midway during the Vietnam War.  He was the Past Commander of AmVets Post 95, and spent a lot of his time at the Post.  He was also a member of the VFW Post 4027, American Legion Post 136, Colonial City Moose Lodge 2555, and Fraternal Order of Elks 140. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, and worked as a fork lift operator for General Motors in Ontario for 39 years.  He enjoyed bass fishing, golfing, Ohio State football, and the Cleveland Browns.  Most of all he loved being around his grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Susann (Davis) Hull; daughters, Brenda McDonough, Ronny (Mike) Wolford, Tracy (Gabe) Olson; grandchildren, Curtis Hull, Beau(Erica) Wolford, Brian Wolford, Cole McDonough, Sarah Wolford, Jillian Olson, Tristan Olson; great-grandchildren, Coleton Oakes, Curtis Hull, Nathan and Thomas Wolford; sister-in-law, Anne Hull; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Ron is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hull and a sister, Patricia Campbell.

A graveside service will take place in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM will Pastor Bill Barton officiating.

  • I am very sorry to hear about Ronald ‘s passing and very sorry I could not make it down there for his services but our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family! My best memories are when my mother Linda and Grandma Pat would go to Ronnie’s house for Thanksgiving and also at Great Grandma’s and Grandpa’s on the Muskingom River where Ronnie taught me how to fish! Lots of great memories and I miss you all!
