Ronald E. Doup, 90, of Main Street, Mount Vernon, died Monday February 11, 2002 at the Country Club Retirement Center. He was born on June 23, 1911 in Knox County to the late Emmett and Ida (Frasher) Doup. Mr. Doup Served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries after 42 years of employment. Mr. Doup was a member of Gay Street United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two step sons, Richard Dowdell of Richmond, VA, David Dowdell of Temple Terrace, Florida, two step grandchildren, and two nephews James and Dean Pealer both of Mount Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy (Lytle) Doup, his second wife, Isabel (Bricker) Dowdell Doup, and a sister Annabel Pealer.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 PM at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. David Baker officiating. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
