Bellville, Ohio

BELLVILLE: Rolland John “Bud” Chamberlain, 77, of Bellville passed away Monday evening, October 14, 2013 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center in Loudonville following a brief illness.

The son of Rolland and Goldie (Lucas) Chamberlain, Bud was born in Mansfield on December 3, 1935.

While working at the A&P Grocery Store in Mansfield, Bud noticed a young lady walking into the store. That day he said to himself, “I’m going to marry that woman”. On March 28, 1953 Bud married Ruth Kelley, in a ceremony officiated by her father.

At 28 years old, Bud gave his life to Christ and never looked back. His greatest gift was that of a spiritual leader to his family. A member of Impact Worship Center, Bud served as a board member, led youth group, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.

The owner of B&B Siding, Bud was hard working and operated a successful business for over 40 years.

In 1971 Bud and Ruthie moved from Mansfield to Bellville, where they continued to raise their three sons. No matter the circumstances, Bud had the uncanny ability to have fun with his family.

Bud appreciated nature and being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing both locally and at Lake Erie. Bud golfed at local courses. He made and sold cypress clocks, setting up stands in several shopping centers.

Bud will be remembered for his spiritual heritage carried through his sons and their families.

Bud is survived by his loving and devoted wife Ruthie Chamberlain of Bellville; three sons Tim (Emma) Chamberlain of Columbia City, Indiana, Steve (Diane) Chamberlain of Bellville, and Bruce (Susan) Chamberlain of Ellenton, Florida; grandchildren Pam Mullins, Heather (Jerry) Garcia, Adam Chamberlain, Caleb (Michelle) Chamberlain, Megan (Darrin) LaFever, Bethany (Howard) Whitlow, Sarah Chamberlain, Emily (Jeremiah) Geiger, David, Rachel, Hannah, and Ellie Chamberlain, Heidi (Matt) Martin, April (Darryl) Manley, Crystal (Eric) Shultz, Katie and Jenna Chamberlain, Nicole (Matthew) Wishon, Melissa (Jeremy) Moore, Ashley Alicky, and Seth Chamberlain; 22 great grandchildren with one on the way; nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother James Chamberlain and sister Carol Faulkner.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 6-8:30pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will be Friday at 11 am. Pastors Mike Cloud and Christine Radojcsics will officiate and burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.
