Rodney Thorpe, 34, of Marengo died unexpectedly, Tuesday December 4, 2007 at his home.
He was born on September 14, 1973 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Vickie Ann Ruth of Marengo and the late Robert E. Thorpe.
Rodney has lived in Marengo for 16 years since moving here from Columbus. While there, he attended Independence High School, where he played and was very good at, his favorite sport, football.
His proudest achievement were his kids and his role as a stay at home Dad. He would even call himself “Mr. Mom”. Rodney always found time for his kids and could spend countless hours playing football with them.
Rodney always looked forward to family vacations in Canada. He was an avid fisherman and would go anytime he had the chance.
He was also quite the chef, coming up with any number of “concoctions” in the kitchen. Meals with Rodney were always a surprise.
Most importantly, Rodney had a warm heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was always being a clown looking for ways to make you laugh.
