May 29, 1954 ‒ April 17, 2008
Mount Gilead, Ohio
Rod Ring, 53, of Mount Gilead died unexpectedly Thursday evening at the Galion Community Hospital.
He was born on May 29, 1954 in Washington, Pennsylvania the son of the late Gladys (Hackinson) Ring and Reuben Ring of Hazel Park, Michigan.
Rod was raised in Hazel Park Michigan and was a graduate of their high school in the class of 1972.
On August 12, 1982 he married Patricia Mulloy in Columbus. They were married for nearly 20 years before her passing in 2002.
He has been a resident of the Mount Gilead community since moving here in 1994 from London, Ohio.
Rod could not have been happier than when he was at work. He was employed as a Durable Medical Engineer for the Drug Store in Columbus. He was at his best delivering and setting up medical equipment for those in need. He always wanted to help people and enjoyed explaining the many uses of the various equipment delivered.
A man of the road, Rod would get in his car, pick a direction, and drive until he felt the need to turn around. He would drive anywhere and everywhere,
Rod will pass on a “never give up” attitude and a stubborn nature to his son Reuben. A son who he always looked out for and made sure he had everything needed.
In addition to his father he will be missed by his son Reuben at home, step-son Milton Colombe and his wife Tonya Bennett-Colombe, and their children Jacob Steven, Allyson Marie, and Marcus Tyler of Delaware; and his brother Rick Ring of Hazel Park, Michigan.
Friends may call on the family on Sunday April 20, 2008 from 2-5 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 South Main Street, Mount Gilead. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. A private burial at Horn Cemetery in Marianna, Pennsylvania will take place at a later date.
