Rodney C. “Rod” Fisher, age 58 of Dublin, passed away unexpectedly at his residence Sunday, May 14. He was born August 5, 1947 in Columbus to Richard W. and Verne L. (nee Moser) Fisher. He was a graduate of Worthington High School Class of 1965, and made a career in the food & beverage industry. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving 3 tours in Vietnam, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal w/5*, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Meritorious Mast, and Naval Achievement Medal w/Combat (V). He was a member of the Worthington American Legion Post #239. He enjoyed sailboat racing, fishing, was an avid Ohio State Football fan, and was a supporter of his daughter’s softball team. He is survived by his parents, his daughters Rebecca and her mother Stacey Gauthier and Nicole and her mother Shannon Fisher, and a brother Richard (Barbara) Fisher. Friends will be received at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware on Thursday from 2:00 – 5:00 PM, where a service will follow Thursday evening at 7:00 PM with a reception to follow. Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday at 11:30 AM in Dayton VA National Cemetery.
