Robert J. Strohl, age 63 of Delaware died early Thursday morning, February 26, 2009 at Riverside Hospital.
He was born on February 6, 1946 in Bellevue to the late Walter and Dorothy (Hilt) Strohl. A US Navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, he moved to Delaware in 2006 to be near his family after living in Medina for 30 years. He was a retired truck driver with JB Hunt.
Described as a simple man who was kind hearted and at times could be sarcastic as well as stubborn. He loved animals, especially his dog Snoopy and cat Yoda. He also treasured old cars and his former 1938 Chrysler Coupe street rod and attending car shows with his son. But he cherished and was most proud of his children and grand children.
Survived by daughter: Jessica (Matt) Hoert of Delaware, son: Zachary Strohl of Delaware, Grandchildren: Baily & Calvin, and sister: Nancy (Leonard) Glawatz of Kentucky.
Memorial services with military honors will be held Sunday 2:00 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware, where friends may gather ½ hour prior to the services.
