Robert O. “Bob” Fellows

Robert O. “Bob” Fellows, age 91 of Ashley passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born on September 23, 1926 in Columbus the youngest child of the late Oliver and Hazel (Brehmer). A graduate of Columbus North High School, he then served in the US Army. It was in Kentucky at a USO dance that he met the former LaVada Bebout. They would marry in 1951 and together raised a family and treasured 64 wonderful years, until her sad passing in 2015.
A retired builder, he owned and operated F & M Builders and Robert O. Fellows Custom Builders in Arizona. He as a faithful member of the Ashley United Methodist Church, active in all church functions.
An avid hunter, he was an outdoorsman at heart, most happy in the woods. He was a fan of westerns, especially John Wayne, Zane Grey, and Louis L’Amour. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling and square dancing.
A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather and always with a smile, it was hard for Bob to behave. He was flirtatious, fun loving and will be remembered for his ornery ways.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children Robert S. (Pat) Fellows of Marengo, Lisa Ingalls of Delaware, William B. (Donna) Fellows of Gambrills, MD, Fred “Dallas” Fellows of Phnom Phen, Cambodia, 7 grandchildren: Donald Mullins, Haily (Michael) Collmar, Robbie, Brian, Matthew, Camden, Cassy Fellows, 3 great-grandchildren: Tawney Mullins, Robert and Andrew Collmar, 2 great-great-grandchildren: Drelyn Akers, Carver Sparks, and dear friend he considered a son Fred (Donna) Graham of Ashley.
The youngest, he was preceded in death by his five sisters.
Memorial services celebrating Bob’s life will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11th at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Vallyside Dr., Delaware. Friends may call one hour prior to the services and time for lite refreshments will follow in the community room at the Center.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Ashley United Methodist Church.
