For his watercolors, Robert Beatty dipped his brush into his very soul, painting his own nature into his pictures. Art was an expressive form for him, creating timeless beauty.

An accomplished artist, Robert Beatty passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was 84.

Born May 26, 1928 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Robert was the son of Robert M. Beatty, Sr., and Helen Brodd Beatty. He was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1946, and served with the U.S. Army National Guard during the Korean War. Robert earned his degree from Wittenburg University, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi. He then studied at the Art Institute of Chicago refining his artistic talent.

He worked as a real estate agent in Mansfield, was a member of Kingwood Men’s Garden Club and a former member of the Optimist Club.

He is survived by his wife Eleanor L. (Carse) Beatty, whom he married August 19, 1967; their sons and a daughter-in-law Sam & Anna Beatty of Berea and Jim Beatty of Columbus; grandchildren Morgan, Reese and Claire, and one on the way; sisters and a brother-in-law Alice & Jerry Hammett of Delaware and Katy Beck of Evanston, IL; and nieces and nephews.

The Beatty family will receive friends Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. Pastor Jim Berry will officiate.
