Robert Jason Tormasi, 32, of Delaware died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning. He was born March 10, 1975 in Columbus, Ohio to Robert Eugene Tormasi and Janice (Cross) Tormasi. He was a City of Columbus 12th precinct police officer for almost 7 years, a lifetime Delaware resident and a member of the Capital City Lodge FOP #9 of Columbus. He was the assistant coach for his son’s wrestling team, “Team Cobra” and was very active in the Tormasi Tournament, a junior high wrestling tournament in Delaware. He was also very active in martial arts. He was a loving husband, father, and family man who enjoyed spending time with his kids and all of their activities. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Tracie (Knepper); 2 sons, Austin and Connor; daughter, Callie; mother, Janice Tormasi of Delaware; brother, James “Andy” (Anne) Tormasi of Gainesville, Virginia; sister, Amy Tormasi of Delaware; father and mother-in-law, Rick and Barb Knepper of Delaware; brother-in-law, Adam (Stephanie) Knepper of Missoula, Montana. He was preceded in death by his father on July 24, 1998. The family will receive friends on Thursday October 4th from 3 – 7 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware where a FOP memorial ceremony will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 5th at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Chaplain John Powers officiating. Burial will follow in Marlboro Cemetery. The family will then host a reception in the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home Community Room immediately following the graveside services.
